Building a stronger future for Cambridge

A note from Kristen:

For many years, I have envisioned serving Cambridge in an elected leadership role, even while focusing on raising a family, building two successful businesses, and contributing to the community as a dedicated volunteer. It was through these experiences that I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of community building, responsible governance, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership.

I believe now is the right time to take that next step into an elected position.

I was born and raised in Cambridge and have fond memories of an idyllic childhood in a community that felt safe and full of opportunity. My husband and I have raised our family here and experienced the joy of sharing our favourite local traditions and amenities with our children. As a grandparent, I am increasingly concerned about the challenges our city faces and the impact they may have on the next generation. I believe we have a responsibility to make decisions today that protect Cambridge's future and preserve the quality of life that has made this community so special.   

This has motivated me to seek a seat at Cambridge City Council where I hope to represent Ward 7 residents with a strong focus on the following goals:

1.      Protecting infrastructure to address the projected funding gap in the City of Cambridge's current forecast for Asset Management;

2.      Managing growth responsibly with a strategic approach to decision making rooted in working toward a long-term vision for our community;

3.      Ensuring property tax dollars are used wisely, transparently, and effectively while pursuing external funding and partnerships that help reduce        pressure on local taxpayers.

As a business owner I understand the importance of strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, accountability, and making decisions based on facts and measurable outcomes. Combined with my experience as a community leader, I believe these skills provide a strong foundation to achieve strategic growth and improve the life experience for residents now and in the future.

I believe I have the necessary experience, relationships, and commitment required to help build a stronger future for Cambridge
