Kristen has served in volunteer leadership roles for a broad range of organizations across Cambridge. Her goal was never simply to serve one cause or support one organization, but instead to develop a balanced understanding of our city - its strengths, its challenges, and the opportunities that exist to build a stronger future.

Kristen sought experience with organizations with a wide spectrum of focus areas including business, economic development, social services, housing, community support, and civic engagement. She was intent on learning from diverse perspectives what is working well in Cambridge and where we need to do better.  Over the past 8 years, Kristen's role with the Cambridge Food Bank has been focused on the relocation of the organization to meet the growing needs of the community.  She has been involved in raising the capital funds required to drive the project forward, and with the successful acquisition of the organization's new facility at 384 Franklin Blvd..  Kristen will continue to support the project through the renovation of the site over the coming months and looks forward to seeing ihte project completed in early 2027.

These experiences have allowed Kristen to build relationships with community leaders, volunteers, business owners, service organizations, and residents throughout our city. Real progress happens when people work together, and effective leadership begins with listening, understanding, and collaboration.
